Well I am back from a successful trip in Russia. I summitted Mount Elbrus on August, 7th at 10:25 am standing 18551'. Mountain Madness put 8 climbers and 3 guides on the summit that day. Everything went smoothly. Mountain Madness planned a great trip. The climbers on the trip were incredible. We had a great team of ten climbers. The experience on the team was deep. John Gluckman from New Zealand was attempting his seventh summit, something I and others dream of. Gary from Arizona was attempting his fourth. Cullen from PA had just graduated from Cornell on May 28th, summitted Denali that following month less than 30 days before this trip. For Dave and Will this would be there second out of seven summits. So we had a great team of experienced climbers. Out of ten of us eight made the summit on that day. For me it was a perfect day. This is just the start of something new for me. As most know I will be attempting to climb all the seven summit in the next three years. The next trip looks like it will be to Mt. Vinson in Antarctica Sometime in January of 2001. A huge goal but one I think I can accomplish. Click on the links to the left for pictures and my journal of the trip. I kept the Journal short and hopefully interesting.
